430EX for my Canon dRebel XT... I sure hope I like this thing!!
Had to lighten this one just a bit, I was working on making it not look so flashy. And getting one of ds sitting still is challenging! It was late last night, gloomy out so no natural light what so ever.
And then dh wanted to give it a try, he did good with this one. I like it.

Fun new toy! I have the 430EX, too. I'm still not that good at using it, but I always try to bounce it when I use it. I have a Lightsphere, too.
How fun! Let me know the tricks once you learn them - I'd be completely lost! Have fun learning and playing!

I got mine for Mother's Day last year and still don't know what I'm doing! I have no idea what the buttons on it do. The only thing I have learned is to bounce it. Your DH did great with that shot of you!
No tips... just play with it a lot. You'll get it figured out in no time.

Congrats on your new toy! I have this same flash and I absolutely LOVE it! If you do a search on 2peas for flash you'll probably come up with lots of links. And there's a monster thread on ILP about dragging the shutter which is fantastic.

It'll be fun to read your experiences with it as you learn it! Looks like something (only for Nikon) that I'll be putting on my Christmas list:) The photo of you is wonderful, and I really like the coloring in the picture of your son.
