Unfortunately most of his pictures were blurry and not focusing right, I'm beggining to think its the camera- its focusing further to the left than where I'm focusing (on the picture above I focused on Austin but it fell on the presents, any suggestions?) AV mode, f/7.1, ISO 800, SS 1/25 (not sure why the camera chose this?!)

on the last one... your shutter speed was too low, so you could have shifted the camera a little to the left when you pressed the shutter button. i've figured out that i do this and it drives me nuts. as for why the camera chose that, if you're shooting in AV mode, you choose the aperture (which looks like you chose f/7.1), so the camera is going to choose the shutter speed to make that work. you still have to watch your shutter speed when you're in av mode.

I sometimes forget to hold the focus (shutter button halfway down) when I use the center focus point but then move my focused subject out of the center of the frame. (Did I explain that right?)

Looks likea fun bday! My little guy had a superman 3rd too! (we celebrated his 4th in december)
