Here's something I need to focus on; my camera. Learning it and learning to take better photos. I know this isn't the best picture, just having some fun in my bathroom mirror. Probably should have taken the 50 mm off, it wasn't allowing a lot of extra space. TFL!!

Photobucket
Settings: Manual, 50mm, f/5, ISO 800, SS 1/40 (should have been a little higher) How do you get pictures so sharp when you are using self timer or shooting yourself?

Great self-portrait! I have the same question about how to get a sharp focus when doing a self-portrait!

this is a great picture. the reason it is not as sharp as you want is probably because your shutter speed is really too slow to handhold. at 1/40 you really need a tripod. try to keep the shutter speed faster than the length of your lens. so a 50mm should not be shot slower than ss 1/50. hope this helps!

Great self portrait! I get the sharp focus by using a tripod and a remote. HRH!

I use the 50mm too - makes it tough sometimes inside. You're brave - I only post pieces of myself :)

Sometimes I feel that way too...I have had my camera for over 2.5 years and I am barely scratching the surface. Great idea for focus! I love it. And your hair is so fabulous.

It's not easy to get a really good self-portrait. It just takes a lot of patience and super glue (to plant yourself so you can't move an inch;))

I can't answer your question. I'd love to know myself. I like this self portrait of you, though.
